The GMAT is an English test that measures the skills considered necessary for the study of management at a gradutate level, or for entering an MBA program (Master of Business Administration).
It assesses not only the level of English, but also analytical skills, structure, ability to solve quantitative problems and vocabulary. This is a high-level test that is used by a large majority of colleges as an admission criteria for candidates to enter into graduate programs.
The test is usually done on a computer. It is an unusual testing system because the right or wrong answer to a question will influence the level of difficulty of the following question. Thus, the test measures the competences more accurately than a fixed test. The scores are on a scale of 200 to 800 points.
