The Pearson Test of English - Academic is specifically designed to assess the skills of individuals preparing for graduate studies in English. There is also a version of PTE called "PTE General", measuring general skills in English as a Foreign Language.

The capabilities of PTE Academic candidates are tested in 3 hours at most. This certificate is accepted by many universities and schools in the United States, England, Spain, France and China. The advantage of this test is that the results are given quickly (in less than five working days). The grades are given in a score from 0 to 90.
